Eligibility Criteria for NRI Admission for MBBS in Kerala
The major eligibility criteria for taking MBBS admission in Kerala through NRI quota are given below:
- A minimum of 50% aggregate in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology from a recognized board.
- A minimum of 50 percentile for General Category students and 40 percentile for Other category students in the NEET-UG entrance exam.
- The candidate must be at least 17 years of age by 31st December of the year of taking admission.
- Provide necessary documents which are needed for showing NRI sponsorship or NRI relationship.
NRI Documents Required for MBBS Admission in Kerala
The candidates must have the following documents without fail to take MBBS admission through the NRI quota in Kerala:
- Relationship certificate of the sponsor and students issued by the Revenue Authorities.
- Overseas employment certificate issued by Employer, which must be attested by the embassy.
- Passport with Visa stamped and attested by Embassy.
- Self-attested affidavit of the relationship of the sponsor and candidate – also called a sponsorship certificate.
- The sponsor must be an Indian Citizen/Overseas Citizen of India / Person of Indian Origin. And provide relevant documents to prove that.
- NRI Certificate.

Admission Process for MBBS through NRI Quota in Kerala
Even if you have the basic eligibility criteria and all the necessary documents, the candidate must attend centralized counseling conducted by CEE.
After the NEET-UG results are published the state authority will announce a date for registration for the counseling and other procedures. You must register and attend the counseling without fail if you want to secure an MBBS seat in Kerala.
The steps involved in the admission through counseling are as follows:
- Registration: The candidate must register for the online counseling by paying a registration fee of Rs.2000. During the registration you must notify yourself as an NRI and submit the documents.
- Document Verification: After registration, the officials of the authorities will check the documents. Once your documents are verified you can attend the counseling.
- Online Counseling: There are 3 rounds of counseling and out of that 2 rounds are conducted online. The third round is called as stray vacancy round.
- Choice Filling and Locking: During your online counseling, you must log in to the portal you must fill in the choice of your college, and lock the choice.
- Allotment: If you are allotted any seats, then it will be published in the portal and you have to download the allotment letter.
- Reporting & Fee Payment: With the allotment letter you have to report to the college with all the original documents and first year full fees.

NRI Quota Fees for MBBS in Kerala
The per-year tuition fees for MBBS in all the private medical colleges are the same. The only difference is there in the special fees which will be charged by each college.

One college which is not mentioned in this list is Amrita Medical College. It is a deemed medical college and the admission process for the same is conducted by the MCC.
The NRI quota fee for Amrita Medical College is $ 45,000 which is approximately Rs.37,40,000 per year.
