Govt. Yoga and Naturopathy Medical College was established in 2000 in accordance with Government Order No.137, Health and Family Welfare Department for Conducting BNYS, Five and Half Years of Medical Degree Course in Naturopathy and Yoga (Comprising 4 ½ years Course of Study and One Year Compulsory Internship).
By the year 2014, the college had advanced to become the top government postgraduate institution in the entire country, with three specialties: naturopathy, yoga, and acupuncture & energy medicine, each with an annual intake of five students.
This Government Yoga and Naturopathy Medical College is a wholly Government Institution and is affiliated with the Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University in Guindy, Chennai. The BNYS Course at this College has an annual intake capacity of 60 students.
