Hey there! Have you heard about G.T.N. Medical College of Naturopathy and Yogic Science Research Centre? 

It’s the first private medical college in Dindigul that was established in 2019 with the aim of providing world-class education in naturopathy and yoga. The college sits on a beautiful 20-acre campus with lots of open grassy fields and wooded areas.

G.T.N.MCNYS is affiliated with The Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University, Chennai, and is approved by the Central Council for Research in Yoga and Naturopathy (CCRYN) under the ‘Ministry of Health & Family Welfare’, Govt. of India & National Institute of Naturopathy (NIN), Govt. of India.

The institute offers a 5½ year medical degree course in the Indian System of Medicine, specifically, Bachelor of Naturopathy & Yogic Sciences (BNYS). This degree program includes 4½ years of academic study and one year of compulsory residential rotatory internship.

I wanted to share some information about the regulations of the Bachelor of Naturopathy and Yogic Sciences (B.N.Y.S.) degree course at the Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University in Chennai. These regulations were created by the Standing Academic Board of the university, in accordance with the Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University, Chennai Act, 1987.

BNYS Eligibility Criteria

  • If you’re interested in applying for this course, please note that you must have passed your qualifying examination (Academic Stream) after 12 years of study (10 + 2) with subjects including Physics, Chemistry, Biology (Botany and zoology), and meet the community-wise eligibility marks as detailed in the regulations.
  • To be admitted to the first year of the BNYS course, candidates must have completed 17 years of age or will complete the age requirement no later than December 31st of the admission year.

Candidates admitted to the BNYS degree course in any of the affiliated institutions must register within 60 days from the cut-off date prescribed for the BNYS course for admission.

The registration process requires a completed prescribed application form, the prescribed fee, and an undertaking in the format of Annexure I of the Regulation for re-admission after a break of study. The registration must be submitted to the Controller of Examinations of the University through the head of the affiliated institution.
