This is the basic eligibility criteria for taking direct MBBS admission.
If you meet the following eligibility criteria, then you can easily secure a medical seat in India or abroad.
Admission Procedure
Again I repeat, if you are looking for merit seats then you have to qualify and score good marks in exams like COMEDK, KCET, or exams conducted by private universities.
As I told you earlier, here I will be explaining the direct admission procedure for engineering colleges in Bangalore.
The major steps involved in the direct admission are:
- Application.
- Document Submission.
- Document Verification.
- Appointment with college.
- Interview – in a few colleges only.
- Fee payment.
- Admission confirmation.
The total time for the whole process depends on each college. In a few colleges, we can do the complete procedures in a single day, and in some colleges will take a few days time.
Step #1 – Application
The candidate must fill out the application form with all the basic details and academic details. After shortlisting the application, the college will contact you.
The registration fees will range from Rs.500 to Rs.6000 depending on each college or university.
Step #2 – Document Submission
You have to submit your document for verification. The document will be returned back after the verification process.
Step #3 – Document Verification
The documents of the student will be verified online through different government portals.
This is to make sure the candidate is eligible to be admitted to the college according to the norms of AICTE.
Step #4 – College Visit
In this stage, you have a chance to meet the authorized staff of the college and they will explain to you the rules and regulations of the college. Apart from that, if you are having any doubts you can clear it with them.
Step #5 – Interview [IN FEW COLLEGES]
In a few colleges, they will take an interview which will be completed related to your 12th standard knowledge. It is to make sure that the candidate is apt to fit into the institution.
Only a few colleges that rank the best take the interview and you have to crack the interview.
Step #6 – Fee Payment
Once the appointment or interview is done, you have to pay a part of the tuition fee to confirm your seat in the college. Few colleges ask to pay the complete first-year fees and a few others ask to pay a part of the tuition fees.
Step #7 – Admission Confirmation
Once the fee is paid, they will provide you with a receipt and admission order. In case if you are applying for an educational loan, then you can ask for the loan papers too.
I have written a few articles about direct admissions to engineering colleges in Bangalore. You check those below:
Things to Keep in Mind
Before taking admission or during the process, I would advise you to keep the following things in mind.
- Keep at least 4-5 copies of documents with you attested by Gazetted officer. You can have to submit the original documents during admission and for emergency purposes, you can keep these copies.

- Many students and parents think that they can take direct admission without having the basic eligibility criteria. It is not possible in any engineering colleges in India.
- You have to keep your first-year fees ready with you. Once the seat is allotted you have to pay the fees in 5-6 working days.
- You may get scam calls from people saying they can arrange your seats in government engineering colleges. And it is common sense that it is not possible.
